Admissions to school for 2019-2020
The process, when your child first begins school, is referred to as 'Admissions'. This is dealt with directly by the the local authority.
You will receive a letter, sent directly to your home address, in the academic year in which your child has their fourth birthday explaining the process. Applications can be made on line or on paper.
Most Infant or Primary Schools will have an Open Day for you to look around before you make your choice; the closing date for applications is usually the end of January.
Confirmation of places is sent out in the March and you can expect the school, in which you have a place allocated, to contact you soon after.

You will need an email account if you wish to make an online application; it is a safe and secure way to apply and you can make changes to your application right up to the closing date. You will receive an email to acknowledge that your application is being processed.

The best way to decide whether a school is right for your child and you is to visit. The head teacher will only be too be happy to show you around the school.

Hollywell Primary School Determined Admission Arrangements 2020 - 2021
The local governing body of Hollywell Primary School is its own admissions authority for the school and it determines its admission arrangements annually.
Admission to Hollywell Primary School
Admissions for children about to start school are allocated by the governors of the school according to the over subscription criteria, but the process is coordinated by Nottinghamshire County Council. All information is available at www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk Parents/carers are required to apply on a common application form through their ‘home’ local authority.
Appeal a school admission decision
If your child is not allocated a place at the school you prefer you have the right to appeal.
The letter you receive telling you that the admission has been refused will contain some information on how to appeal.
How to appeal
As a foundation school Hollywell Primary School participate in the Nottinghamshire County Council's non-statutory in-year coordinated scheme. Appeals are administered by the Local Authority.
