 Change of menu for Tuesday 3rd & Friday 6th September                          

Cook has advised of a change of menu Tuesday 3rd September she will serve Friday's meal of fish fingers and diced potatoes and on Friday she will serve Tuesday's meal of beef tacos. This is due to the deliveries to the school.

Cook has advised of a change of menu Tuesday 4th June she will serve Friday's meal of fish goujons and diced potatoes and on Friday she will serve Tuesday's meal of Nottinghamshire sausage with Yorkshire pudding. This is due to the deliveries to the school.   

Change of menu for Tuesday 7th May 2019 

 

Cook has advised of a change of menu due to the Bank Holiday. Tuesday 7th May she will serve Monday's meal Vegetarian roll, gravy and jacket wedges. 

School Dinner Price Increase 

 

From 23rd April 2019, Nottingham County Council will be increasing the school daily meal charge to £2.30.

Cook has advised of a change of menu for the Tuesday after Half Term. Cook will serve Friday's dinner of fish goujons and jacket wedges and on Friday cook will serve Tuesday's dinner of hot dog in a roll with jacket wedges . 

School dinners are subject to change at short notice. This may due to the delivery and produce availability.  We will endeavour to notify you in advance but sometimes this is just not possible.

Change of menu for Tuesday 6th June and Friday 9th June 

 

Cook has advised of a change to the week's menu for Tuesday and Friday after Half Term.  On Tuesday she will be serving Fridays menu of fish fingers, chips, garden peas and sweetcorn with strawberry cup cake.  On Friday she will be serving Tuesday's menu of turkey pie, new potato's carrots and cabbage with pineapple upside down cake with custard.

We are proud that Hollywell Primary School has been awarded the Gold Food for Life Partnership award for our school meals.

A Food for Life Schools Award demonstrates that our school is doing fantastic work to provide healthy school meals, great lunchtimes and food education that has a positive impact on both pupils and the wider community.


Food for Life awards are centred around four areas of development -

  • Community and Partnerships

     

    What is a GOLD school?

  • Act as hubs for their local community, actively involving parents and community groups in cooking and growing activities

  • Meet the Gold Food for Life Catering Mark which shows the food served is healthy, ethical, uses lots of local ingredients and is animal and climate friendly, including a minimum of 15% organic and 5% free range

  • Pupils choosing to eat a school meal is the norm

  • Are actively involved in the life of a local farm and active in planning and growing organic food for the school.

School meal charge increase from 18 April 2017

 

From 18 April 2017 Nottingham County Council will be increasing the school daily meal charge to £2.29. 

 

Change of menu for Tuesday 21st February 

 

Cook has advised of a change to the week's menu for the 1st day back after Half Term. On this day we will be having Monday's dinner of:

Quorn dippers, wraps & potato croquettes with mixed vegetables with rice pudding and jam.

Change of menu for Thursday 19th January 2017

 

Hollywell will be celebrating the Chinese New Year on Thursday 19th January with a slight change to the menu:

 

Hong Kong quorn dippers with sweet & sour sauce

Spring festival savoury rice

Singapore vegtable sticks

&

 Good fortune fruit salad.

 

This is a slight adjustment to the menu that is featured on week 3 of the school menu. 

School Meals Autum-Winter 2016/2017

Nottinghamshire County Council have advised of a change to the menu.

 

Menu week one

Wednesday- Spaghetti bolognese will be replaced with pasta bolognese.

Menu week two

Wednesday-Chicken & lentil curry will be replaced with chicken in a tortilla wrap and minted salad.

Thursday-Roast beef dinner will be replaced with gammon dinner.

School Meal Costs and Payments 

All infant aged children (Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 classes) receive their midday school meal free of charge. Should you wish your child not to have a school meal they must inform their teacher otherwise a meal may be prepared for your child. Please see below for KS1 meal arrangements.

 

As of April 20th 2015, meals for children in Key Stage 2 cost £2.22 per day.

In addition to this the Government is providing additional funding to schools for each pupil that is eligible for the Pupil Premium. To ensure we capture all funds that are applicable which will enable us to provide additional equipment, support and activities for the pupils, parents must apply. This includes for those children who are in Key Stage 1. You will need to use this link

“You may qualify for free school meals if your child attends a Nottinghamshire County Council School or Nursery full time (in line with the school’s published admission arrangements) and you receive one of the following benefits:

  • support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • child tax credit, provided you are not entitled to working tax credit and have an annual income (as assessed by HM Revenue & Customs) that does not exceed £16,190
